Centre of Electricity develops and maintains the
standards of electrical quantities, provides the
traceability and metrological infrastructure in
the following fields: DC and AC voltage, Current
and Resistance, electrical capacity, Power and

The Centre performs calibrations
in the wide range of electrical quantities, which
is fiven by facilities traceable to the standards
mentioned above. besides the calibrations the
Centre executes in the field of legal metrology
the type tests for certification of the
watthour-meters launched on the market of the
Slovak republic.
The metrological
services are demanded by many
companies, mainly from the accredited
laboratories like Slovak Legal metrology,
electrical energy producers and distributers,
telecommunications, large factories like
Slovnaft, US Steel and Slovak Gas Industry and
for the Defence Ministry.
The Laboratories apart from their mainly
activities ensure the education of metrologists
from industry, elaborate the expert judgements
and give consultancies in the field of metrology
of electrical quantities.
